Christmas fun!

Well, it has been a great Christmas here in good ole Boise! We have done everything you could possibly want to do over the break. Bowling, movies, food, ice skating, skiing, family, food, shopping, games, food, BYU vs BSU basketball game, Nyssa, food, etc. There will be pictures to follow as soon as we get home. We have a new digital camera and video camera to play with, so there might even be videos if you're lucky. So there you have it. Happy new year!

Coolest game ever?

Ok, so I am at work right now. It's really slow and I'm pretty bored, so I did what any bored person does.....I watched highlights from last season's Fiesta Bowl with Boise State vs. Oklahoma. This game is widely known as the greatest game since since the invention of the game in like 4,000 B.C. when cavemen and the Israelites used to throw rocks at each other for fun.

Anyway, while I was watching it, I got so excited that my face almost melted off. That was such an awesome game. I just had to post the link to this awesome highlight video so that all of you could enjoy the same face-melting experience that I enjoyed.

Christmas Time!

Hey, we just wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas. We hope everyone is doing well. Life is good for our little family and we have lots of things to be excited about in the upcoming new year. Thanks to everyone for your love, support, and prayers. They are all very needed and appreciated. Check out our Christmas "card" we posted!

I'm almost ashamed to be doing this, but I've been tagged, and I actually decided to go after this one, since it was my lovely sister who did the tagging. And yes, to continue in my long, honored tradition of coming up with lame excuses for doing things I am embarassed about.......It's really boring at work and I am tired of doing homework.

Past lame excuses have included: "I watch power rangers because my little brother likes it and he refuses to change the channel" and "The only reason I have a 'My Little Pony' doll is because my grandma gave it to me and I didn't want to hurt her feelings."

Here goes: 6 facts about myself

1. My worst fear is someday waking up in the middle of the night, and in my tiredness glancing out the window. Underneath the streetlight on the road outside will be a scary looking clown. I'll glance away and then do a doubletake. When I look back, the clown is gone, and I think that it was just a figment of my imagination. Then I hear the front door of my house slowly open, and footsteps coming toward my room.........Yeah, freaky, I know. That's why it's my worst fear.

2. If I could be reincarnated as anyone, it would probably be Will Smith. Think about it. He's got the bad-boy image that every guy deep down kind of wants, because he's played all those tough guys in movies. He's also got the nice guy image from a lot of his movies and his days as the "Fresh Prince." He's musically talented, and anyone that's ever gotten "Jiggy" can account for that. He's also got a decent family life from what I understand. I'm pretty sure he's not hurting too much financially either.

3. One of my dreams is to someday become a rockstar and be up on stage in front of atleast 20,000 people. At a cool part in the song, I want to throw my hands up in the air, my head back, and just let them cheer because they love me so much, like Garth Brooks in this picture:

I've been practicing my rockstar kick in preparation for that day, which is bound to come.....as soon as I am reincarnated as Will Smith.

4. An average of 18-25 times per day, I come up with hilarious jokes and insights about things happening in my life. The only problem is that I am the only one that thinks they are hilarious. My many efforts to share my humor with those around me is usually met with blank stares and chuckles coupled with alot of eye rolling. However, I have not given up in my effort to share this humor with all the lucky people within my circle of influence. Then, one day, I met a person who thought my insights were funny too! He was my little brother, Tanner....but then I met another person, who was of no blood relation to me, and who was a girl....a pretty girl! So I married her. I am full of stupid jokes, and Julie always laughs at them. I appreciate it.

5. I am convinced that if I was not a member of The Church, that I would be a heavy social drinker. Why? Because I love root beer. Not only do I love root beer, I love drinking root beer. I love the atmosphere of sitting down with my buddies, drinking root beer, laughing, telling jokes, watching a football game, etc. Back in my lonely single days, when I was feeling especially single, I would drown my sorrows in root beer. Basically what I'm trying to get at is that rootbeer has played a significant role in my life up to this point. Enough said.

6. I hate cell phones. I have one, because I really feel like it has become a necessity in our lives. I am rarely home during the day, so it facilitates a lot of communication. But I really don't like them. People's cell phones have become so important to them. I hate it when I am talking to someone face to face, their cell phone rings, and they interrupt our conversation to answer their phone. I'm sorry, but it's very easy to let it ring and then call the person back in a few minutes. Real people need to be more important to you than the people on the other end of the phone line. Also, I think text messaging is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. People actually have conversations over text messaging. How hard is it to just call the person?

I will now step off my soapbox.

Give the Public What They Want!

Well, the polls closed yesterday with a landslide, decisive victory by Northrop Grumman over IBM. Maybe it's the average winter temperature of 3 degrees Fahrenheit in Rochester, or maybe it's those darn Rockies who surprised everyone this year. (Or maybe it was my wife who voted more than her share) Either way, I decided I had to follow the public demand. But really folks, Northrop Grumman is the place we need to be. I know it's a company I can work hard for and that I can take pride in what I do.

So I called today and accepted the offer in Denver. I guess that's where we'll be after I graduate. I'm really excited and so is Julie, so I guess you could say we're both really excited. It will be really exciting to have a real job, whatever that means.... because ya know, I'm tired of all these fake jobs I've had. Finally, I leave you with the immortal words of Muhammad Ali:

"It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."

And beat people up he did. Go team go.

Rocky Mountain High......or Big Fish?

Well, after a lot of waiting and wondering and praying and interviewing and sleeping in my suit, it looks like it may have paid off. I finally got a couple job offers that I'm really excited about. One is from IBM in Rochester, Minnesota, and the other is from Northrop Grumman in Aurora, Colorado. I'm kind of torn between the two. They are both great companies, both Fortune 100 companies that offer great benefits etc. As far as location goes, Northrop Grumman wins out, because Andi is there in Denver and it's closer to home and to the Rocky Mountains. However, Rochester's cost of living is super-low, and I can only imagine what the fishing is like in Minnesota's 10,000 lakes.

Also on Northrop Grumman's side is John Denver and the fact that I would get government security clearance if I worked for them, and I would have to do a polygraph test....which would be pretty cool.

So, in order to be fair about this, I'm going to let all of you decide. I have posted a poll asking you where Julie and I should go. I promise that I will follow the popular majority.....as long as it goes along with what we personally decide.
