It begins

Yesterday was a great day! Why was it a great day you might ask? Well, it was the first day of the 2007 college football season, and Boise State played. They won 56-7. So needless to say, even though I've already said it twice, it was a great day.

Julie and I are going to Boise today....finally! I don't think anyone has ever been so excited about going to Boise, Idaho (except maybe that guy on Single's Ward). We're just excited to see my family and relax and be outside of Provo for a few days. It will be glorious. That and I won't have to do dishes for three whole days! We are leaving poverty and entering the world of the dishwasher. Anyway, we must be really excited about it, because we're missing the BYU - Arizona game which we have tickets to. But it warms my heart that Dave and Melanie will enjoy the game in our behalf.

Anyway, last night I went with Julie to her "Back to School Night" at her school. That's where all the parents come and meet the teacher etc. I just wanted to see her in action. I did see her in action, but I spent most of my time fixing her computer, helping another teacher there with a computer problem, and reading 3rd grade level chapter books. I got hooked on this book called "Brian's Winter." It's a continuation of "Hatchet" and it's written as if Brian never got rescued and had to stay in the wilderness through the winter. I got Julie to let me take it home, and I stayed up till almost midnight reading it. Great book. Someday I want to be a mountain man...or atleast buy some moose-skin underpants.

The Polls are in!

The polls are in for the long awaited and highly anticipated "Deserted Island" poll. We've pitted two contemporary American idols (Nate and Julie) against two highly recognized and widely followed international figures (Moses and Osama bin Laden). It was a close race. The polls were so tight, in fact, that the end result was a three-way tie. Not surprisingly, Nate and Julie were front-runners, pulling even with the sea-splitting Moses on the last day. I guess that whole "prophetic gift" thing could come in useful when stranded and desperate. Osama obviously finished behind the pack because if you were alone with him on a deserted island, you would quickly become his only target.

So the poll was a success. Julate is as popular as arguably the most prolific prophet in history. *It is also noteworthy that Julie was tied with Osama bin Laden until the last day of voting.

I also want to note the importance of the Hillary Clinton poll that was recently concluded. As I expected, the poll was completely unanimous in the affirmative. Considering that this poll was representative of the entire United States population, the results of another Clinton president could be disastrous! Imagine, millions of people immigrating to Canada, American citizens armed with nothing but dull pencils and plastic forks overrunning the entire Canadian military, McDonalds popping all over the Canadian wilderness, Sasquatch becoming the NFL mascot....it would be awesome! So I say...go Hillary go! eh?

Yesterday, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 in the dollar theater. I guess since it was only a dollar, we can't be too disappointed, but really we didn't like it all that much. Let's just say we're glad we didn't pay 8 dollars to go see it. On Friday we went to California Pizza Kitchen and had a chicken pizza that really turned out to be a lettuce pizza. We also had egg rolls dipped in peanut sauce......gross. But Julie liked the egg rolls and Nate liked the pizza, so it was ok.

We just realized that this blog made us sound really boring.....oh well. The most exciting thing on the docket is that we are headed to Boise this weekend. We'll leave Friday and come back Monday. We were just needing some Frederiksen family togetherness/not being in Provo time.

Tech support happiness

Well, I'm at work now, and I guess you could say I am pretty bored. I just helped a girl navigate to her class schedule on the BYU page. Exciting I know. Also, since it's still summer, most students are out doing anything but think about the upcoming school year, so I've gotten one call in the last 40 minutes. Our first blog...awww!

Ok, ok, we finally joined the cyber world and started a blog. I know, I know, we swore we never would. But hey, at least it's not MySpace or Facebook! :-) Well, we've been married 3 1/2 months and it's been glorious. All you single people should try it sometime. (I hated it when people said that to me when I was single.) Seriously, we're in Provo and we're happy. We even live in Wymount, the happiest place on Earth!

Anyway, Julie just passed the computer to me, saying she's too tired to do this and it's sounding too cheesy.....so she handed it to me...the "Cheese Master." I'm currently working with my fellow nerds in the "nerdery" doing tech support for BYU. And Julie has a real job teaching 3rd grade. I wish my 3rd grade teacher was as good looking as she is. Actually come to think of it, I did have a crush on Mrs. Johnson. There was just one thing that kept us apart....the Mrs. But all is well and we're loving life. College football season starts in 9 days! Go Broncos! (He means Cougars!)
