Still waiting...

So we checked into the hospital at 4 pm yesterday. The plan was to get everything nice and ready to go overnight and start the pitocin around 8 this morning...unfortunately we hit a setback or two. Things are still moving along...just very, very slowly. So we're hoping to be able to start the pitocin around noon. The good news is that I'm contracting every 2-3 minutes and I can barely feel them. The regularity is good, the lack of pain is good...now whether there has been any progression or not is yet to be seen! Wish us luck!

No baby yet...

But we've been up to plenty of other fun stuff to keep ourselves busy!
Nate and his brother-in-law Spencer decided to climb a ridiculously tall mountain a few Saturdays ago. It was over 14,000 feet tall and well-above the tree-line. Pretty manly if you ask me. I'm just glad I had the pregnancy excuse to get out of that hike!



For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, this is Nate's classic "look how cool I am" pose. And I think judging by the amazing view/dropoff behind him he totally deserves it!


We ventured out to the Aurora Reservoir one weekend. The weather was perfect! It was a great day! (And that is either a beached whale or a very pregnant lady who should not be in a swim suit!...you decide.)

Our friend Kelson, from our days in Provo, came for a visit.

The baby's room is about done! My friend Rachel helped me paint the border and I LOVE it! Nate's grandpa made the book shelf years ago...unfortunately most of my children's books are too tall for it and ended up in a basket on the floor instead of on the shelf, but I still think it looks pretty cute!

This is the crib. I want to put something cute with her name or initials on it over the crib...that is once she has a name and initials!

And this is me at 39 weeks...just waiting!

It's almost time...

So as the day for our baby to arrive draws closer, I thought it would be fun to conduct a little poll. If you want to participate, please put your guesses in the comment section. As a bit of background information, her official due date is August 30. I have an induction scheduled for the 31st if she has not arrived by then. At her 34 week ultrasound she weighed in at 6 lbs 5 oz (hence the reason for the induction...the doctor doesn't think I can handle a 9 1/2-10 lb baby, and I tend to agree). So here's the deal, I want to know your prediction for her date of arrival, birth weight, birth length, and any name suggestions you may have, as she still remains nameless. I can't wait to see what you all come up with and of course what the actual results turn out to be!

Our guest room is finished, and we love visitors!!!

This is how we got the bed home from the store. The nice sales man assured us that he does this for a living and we could drive on the freeway with the mattress and boxspring on top...luckily it was a quick 2 mile drive that didn't surpass 35 mph.

This is the room after we painted (yes we painted white on white, but it looks SO much better than it did!) and added a few things. Our first guests arrive tonight!

And this is the quilt I made for the baby last week...nod bad eh?

This week...

Nate had a birthday.
He is now a quarter of a century old.
That makes him sounds really old.
He got a bunch of baseballs for his birthday so he can have a home run derby.
Apparently this fulfills a childhood dream.
We ate German chocolate cake with friends and went bowling for his birthday.
I forgot to take any pictures.
We had an ultrasound yesterday.
Supposedly our child already weighs 6 lbs 5.5 oz.
According to the ultrasounds tech, she may be arriving ahead of schedule.
I have way too many things to do to be blogging.

update

So that is probably the lamest title ever, but here's exactly that, an update of the last few weeks.

We have done a lot of painting...well more like Nate has done a lot of painting and I have done a lot of supervising! This is our living room. We just did the one wall this color and I LOVE it!

This is me wearing my trusty mask so I can help occasionally. We also repainted all the white in the living room, including the ceiling, because it was dingy and dirty. We started painting the baby's room a "pale" yellow that turned out not to be so pale. I go back and forth between liking it and hating it and I can't bring myself to finish it!

We spent a week in Boise. This is Wyoming's claim to fame, the smallest town in America. Buford, WY population 1. It consisted of a rest stop/trading post with a cute little log house behind it.

13 hours on the road and you're bound to see some interesting things, like this semi pulling a helicopter.

This is at the Boise 4th of July parade. Nate is showing the next generation how to operate the water gun.

Me too! Me too!

So lots of other people have posted about their dads in honor of Father's day. Well, I have an amazing father as well, I just have been too lazy to blog about it. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of him on my computer here at work, but I stole this one off of my aunt Jill's blog.
If you couldn't tell, my dad's the one on the far right in the front. But if you couldn't tell, I'm guessing you've never met him, because it looks just like him!

Well, here's a few reasons why my dad is so great!
-he is always excited to talk to me on the phone
-he has the greatest advice!
-he can find ANYTHING that is lost...I wish he were here to find my wallet
-he loves to travel and was always willing to take us kids on his business trips...the hotel was always the best part
-he gets excited about little things like getting a hotel room on the top floor and learning something new
-he is always reading at least 3 books and loves to share what he learns from them
-he made me the critical thinker that I am today
-he always respected and loved my mom and expected us to do the same
-he has an answer to EVERY question
-he always puts family above work
-we are welcome at the office anytime
-he loves to come out and support us in all that we do
-he is always learning a new skill or hobby...have you seen the ducks he's carved? They are amazing!
-he is a man of many hobbies...throughout my childhood I remember him having all of the following hobbies at one time or another: coin collecting, duck carving, reading, rock tumbling, star gazing, model cars, and the list goes on. He knows a ton about each one and loves to share all that he knows.
-he knows how to unwind and relax with the best of them
-he is a hard worker
-he taught me everything I know about playing cards
-he doesn't value his material possessions too much. he has loaned his car to just about anyone and when asked if he's crazy he always responds "It's only a car."
-he loves others...I can tell because he doesn't speak negatively of them.
-he loves me and is the greatest dad ever!

I love you dad!
