The Waltz: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3

We moved to Boise just in time for the open house and rededication of the Boise Temple! This is a big deal! The temple has been closed for over a year for renovations. The open house starts later this month and the dedication will be in November. The day before the dedication the youth in the area will be putting on a giant cultural production. We were looking forward to watching this via satellite since the arena is not nearly big enough for everyone to attend. That is until we got the phone call Tuesday morning. Nate got the call on his cell phone at work. It was a member of the stake presidency. We barely know what stake we are in, let alone who the stake presidency members are. Well, he had an assignment for us that was time sensitive. There was not enough time to set an appointment so he gave the assignment on the phone. We were asked to teach all the youth who meet in our building, that is 75-100 fourteen to eighteen year olds, a dance for the cultural celebration. The dance is none other than, you guessed it, the waltz! We got the call Tuesday morning, went to the training to learn the routine Tuesday night, and come Wednesday night it was us and a room full of teenagers learning to waltz. Needless to say, it was an exhausting couple of days. We will rehearse every Wednesday from now until November 17 when the youth will get to perform for the prophet! That part is pretty cool. And since we are now their leaders, we get to watch the performance live along with the prophet. This assignment is a little overwhelming. We don't dance. Not that we don't like to dance, on the contrary. We just do not have much dance training. I took a little ballroom dance in college, but ironically enough we never learned the waltz. However, we did learn to waltz in my 8th grade production of Cinderella, so I am practically a pro. Wish us luck! It is sure to be a fun few weeks
