Photo Update

Taking after her father...cookies and milk!

BYU's open practice at the Pepsi Center.

Go Jimmer!

Play date

They colored for 15 whole minutes! I was shocked!

Her first time (of many, I'm sure) being embarrassed by her dad's goofy ways.

And me at 20 weeks, only 20 to go...whew!

Cute girl and projects

A couple of weeks ago we found this beautiful blue chair at a thrift store for 3 bucks! We had been wanting to get and/or make a little table and chairs set for Clara so it was a great find.

Then on the way out we found this chair and table for ten dollars for the set. Isn't the white and pink design lovely?

We didn't love the color so we set out to refinish them.

And here's the finished product! I wish I could take credit for this, but alas, I cannot. I have my amazing husband to thank for these. Oh, and the camera did weird things to the color. The color is more green apple-ish and less sea foamy. I LOVE the color!

Clara was so excited to have her own place to sit this morning that she dragged these into the living room to sit on while she watched Sesame Street.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure she spent the better part of an afternoon the other day wandering around the house just like this. She was pretty pleased with her ensemble and her choice in snacks. I think she was working on "filling out" her swim suit because that belly of hers just isn't quite big enough yet.

18 months!

Clara turned 18 months old last week and she couldn't be more pleased about it! She went to nursery all by herself for the first time yesterday and LOVED it!
At her 18 month check up she was sweet as can be. She got one shot and didn't even cry. She is ahead in her speech and has finally caught up in her gross motor development! Her stats were as follows:
weight: 24 lbs. 6 oz. (55th percentile)
height: 32 1/4 in. (70th percentile)
head: 19 3/4 in. (97th percentile)
She is as sweet as can be and makes us smile and laugh every day. Seriously, I don't know how I got to be so blessed to have such a good little girl. Her favorite things to do are read books, do puzzles, and watch movies. She loves to "help" especially by taking things to the "tush" (trash). Her best friends are her kitty and doggy who sleep with her every night. She gives great hugs and has so much to say! We are so lucky to have her in our family!
Here she is playing in her play house with her best (human) friend Libby.

Nursery!

Today was Clara's first day of nursery and she did great! She actually won't be 18 months for a couple of weeks, but they let the kids come in early if a parent stays. Hopefully she does as well without one of us there. She wore her new cowgirl outfit she got from grandma and grandpa at Christmas time. It's still a little big, but it's just too cute!

Doesn't she look so grown up?

And this is a little outfit she came up with yesterday. I figured all she needed was a pair of grandpa's boots on and she would have the classic look I'm pretty sure me and many of my cousins wore at a similar age.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Between minimal sleep the night before and a trip to doctor's office with a double ear infection, we did manage to celebrate Valentine's day. I just didn't get around to posting about it. This year we started a new tradition. Starting February 1 we all had a mailbox with our name on it. All month long we have gotten random love notes and treats from one another. It was a lot of fun! I got the mailboxes for a buck each at Target and we decorated them for family night, doesn't get much better than that!

I saw this cute wreath on ourbestbites.com and it looked so easy and so cute I had to make it! It turned out better than I anticipated. I didn't get it done until a couple days before Valentine's Day so it will be staying up at least until the end of the month. Just looking at it makes me happy!

This was Nate's Valentine's breakfast (after 2 hours of sleep and getting up to teach seminary, he appreciated it more than I had anticipated.)

Nate was a sweet heart and ordered me a pound of chocolate covered cinnamon bears from the BYU bookstore...my favorite! I hope you all had a great Valentine's day!

It's true

Our little family of three is growing into a family of four! August 8 is the big day, but I'm thinking this one will come a little earlier. We are excited to say the least. While I will be elated to have another girl, I think we are all kinda hoping for a boy. We shall see!

P.S. The food blog is now up and running again. Needless to say, I haven't done much cooking lately. But I am getting back in the swing of things. Check it out! julielovestocook.blogspot.com
